It may not be Portland status, but the Bay Area is quickly catching on to the rise of Vegan popularity. In fact, a handful of restaurants in the Bay are so dedicated to the Vegan lifestyle- it’s all they serve. This article isn’t about those places. This article is about regular restaurants that serve OUTSTANDING Vegan food that you should know about. This is Bay Area Vegan food!

Milagros | Mexican
1099 Middlefield Rd, Redwood City, CA 94063
This lively Latin kitchen has recently taken Mexican vegan food to the next level with new menu items like artichoke enchiladas! I love this place for the fun atmosphere and various types of margaritas. They also added frozen Rose or “Frose” to their menu FTW!
Your Vegan Order
- Sweet Potato and Quinoa Tacos
- Artichoke Enchiladas (pictured above)
- Veggie Fajitas
- Housemade Guac (hold the cheese)
- The Bueno Bowl
Reposado | Mexican
236 Hamilton Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94301
An upscale Mexican restaurant located in the heart of Palo Alto, Reposado is good for a better than average vegan date night. They have a separate Vegetarian Menu which lists all of their current Vegan options so make sure to snag that menu otherwise you may be stuck eating just guac. Which let’s be honest-wouldn’t be the worst thing that’s ever happened.
Your Vegan Order
- Queso con Pipan (Pictured above-Chile and sesame seed crusted tofu with cashew queso sauce)
- Berenjena con avellanas (Grilled Roasted Eggplant Steak)
Umami Burger | American
452 University Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94301
Admittedly it feels a little odd heading to a burger joint for Vegan food, but trust me on this one. The ‘Trufflemaker’ is to die for. It’s a little rich, so come hungry but the flavor in this burger is mouth watering! And yes the cheese is Vegan!
