Self-care seems to be the buzzword of 2019. It seems like everywhere I look, people are selling products to add to your self-care routine or spouting off about how self-care has improved their confidence and even their lives! Let me tell you- I am HERE FOR THIS! Finally a trend I can get behind. Self-care is the come up we have all been waiting for.
Last weekend, in the name of self-care, I took a much needed timeout from full time mom mode and spent an entire weekend in San Francisco with my sister. It was the ultimate act of self-care and boy did I need it! Self-care comes in many forms and we checked all the boxes. So without further ado, here is my ultimate list of how to spend a weekend in SF doing all the self-care.
Where To Stay
Hotel Spero. Located in the heart of Union Square, Hotel Spero is central to almost any outing in the city making it easier to walk and cheaper to Lyft. Location aside, this amazing boutique hotel made us feel like queens! (And isn’t that what self-care is all about?!)

From holding our bags, to helping with parking, to delivering us mid afternoon snacks- we felt so taken care of all weekend. I’m such a sucker for the little details and Hotel Spero had them!

From the greenery, to the framed art and even the doors, the trendy look of Hotel Spero made our home away from home so so refreshing to come back to after an afternoon of outings. The cozy & inviting rooms totally added to the mood of relaxation and it couldn’t have been more perfect for our self-care staycation!

Where To Sit
Yoga is cool, but have you ever tried a sound bath meditation? It’s actually not a bath at all, it’s more like shavasana on steroids. Many yoga studios offer smaller more intimate versions of them, but if the stars align and you happen to be in the city during a sound bath put on by The Sound Healing Symphony, you must go!

It’s an experience from another lifetime! Basically, they play sound bowls, gongs and other high vibration instruments while you lay down, immersing you in healing energy and sending you into a deep state of relaxation. In SF, they hold events at Grace Cathedral and also in the Conservatory of Flowers, which is where we went. It was surreal. If you have never been to a sound bath before, adding it to your self-care checklist is a MUST!
Where To Soak
Kabuki Springs Spa. No self-care weekend is complete without a trip to the spa, am I right?! Located in the heart of Japantown, a visit to Kabuki Springs almost makes you feel like you have been transported to a traditional bathhouse in the hills of Osaka.

Their soaking tubs, seated showers, sauna and steam room hit the mark for a complete relaxation experience. The also offer spa treatments, but the springs soaking experience alone was totally worth it!
Where To Sunset
Baker Beach will always and forever by my favorite beach in SF. With unobstructed views of the expansive Pacific Ocean and the Golden Gate, sitting on the beach to watch the sunset is the perfect way to close out a weekend of self-care!

After a weekend away at Hotel Spero and indulging in all my favorite self-care activities, I felt refreshed and rejuvenated to say the least! What are your favorite ways to practice self-care? Have you visited any of these spots in the city? I’d love to hear in the comments below!
And don’t forget to check out Hotel Spero and book them for your next stay in SF!

July 31, 2020 at 4:37 pmGood morning, I was just visiting your website and filled out your feedback form. The “contact us” page on your site sends you these messages via email which is the reason you are reading through my message right now correct? That’s the most important achievement with any kind of advertising, getting people to actually READ your message and I did that just now with you! If you have an advertisement you would like to promote to thousands of websites via their contact forms in the U.S. or anywhere in the world let me know, I can even focus on specific niches and my charges are very reasonable.
